Innovation Creates Interest & Awareness
Its a Joy being able to research trends & arrive at new ways to turn unwanted donated furniture into interesting, desirable & saleable Up-Cycled items. In conjunction with this, if we can also create interest & awareness about global issues we are increasing the status of the “Social” element of our Enterprise.
The Team at RECOVER enjoy looking out for news & images that potentially will enable us to do all of the above!!! And look what they’ve come up with, Balinese Boat Furniture.
In more detail it’s the – up-cycling of salvaged & reclaimed old fishing boats into useful furniture items. They are currently very avant garde in North America & Australia & feature in trendy glossy interior design & decorators publications.
Here’s the positive “Social” aspect –
These amazing originals sell for $1,000′s each and a significant amount of the income generated goes directly back into the fishing villages to support:
What’s all this got to do with RECOVER Team in Welwyn Garden City Hertfordshire?
Using precise methods & systems we have been perfecting techniques to replicate these stunning exotic signature pieces. What’s more all our Team members can get involved – you don’t need to be master with a paint brush as long as the method is closely adhered too; and its great fun mixing colour palates to resemble the originals.
A few of our first pieces – all now sold.
This lot sold too.
Our furniture is not reclaimed from Bali Boats but is locally sourced & if we hadn’t collected it from the kind donors would have ended up in one of Hertfordshire’s landfill sites. Our pieces are exceptionally well priced & the income generated does not go to the villages in Bali but helps RECOVER move towards sustainability – and that’s good too.
